Hridoy was born just after two months of his father die by savar tragedy. He has visionary eyes, attractive smile and a future with darkness. Hajera Begum is a divorced woman with an intellectual disability. She lives with her elderly parents who are unable to earn enough to cover all the family’s needs. She has no brother who can earn and cover the daily expenses. Her younger sister was killed in the Rana Plaza collapse on 24 April 2013, Savar, Dhaka. Every day she asked her mother, “Maa, Bubu ahe na kan bazar nia, amaar khida nagse…” (Mother, why has my sister not yet come with the food? I am hungry.). Her mother, Firoja Begum, doesn’t know how to answer her innocent daughter.
At last, PDF family answers for her mother. We have donated a cow with a new born calf from the ‘PDF- Rana plaza Tragedy Fund’. The cow provides the family with six liters of milk every day. Her father, Billal Mia, is selling the milk in the market to provide money for food on a daily basis. Hajera is no longer hungry and is now always happy with a beautiful smile.
